First, let us determine the difference between rebuilding and precision remanufacturing.
When a press/folder is rebuilt, standard procedure is to visually inspect it for wear and breakage. Those components that fail are replaced, while the remaining components are cleaned and re-installed. In other words, they fix what is broken and hope everything else is okay.
When a press/folder is remanufactured, it goes through an entirely different process. The units/folders are completely disassembled, down to the side frames. All out of tolerance bores are match-bored, and power honed to tightly controlled sizes and surface finish specifications. All eccentrics and bearings are assembled for the truest fit possible.
At Mountain States, Inc., each press we sell as remanufactured is remanufactured to exact specifications that meet or exceed original equipment standards, right down to the hardware. All remanufactured press units are supplied with clad welded Monel cylinders that carry a five-year warranty.
It's no wonder our remanufactured presses and folders carry a premium limited warranty backed by over twenty years of service to the newspaper and commercial printing industry.
Mountain States, Inc. has served the printing industry with press repairs as well as total press remanufacturing since 1974. We have been the “pioneers" of numerous concepts and processes which are now considered standard in the industry.
